CRUDE OIL: Futures settled marginally higher on Monday despite easing geopolitical concerns as expectations of ample US inventories supported prices. Monthly oil market reports are due from the International Energy Agency and the US Energy Information Administration on Tuesday.
--NYMEX Sep futures (a barrel): $98.08 Monday vs $97.65 Friday.
GOLD: Futures declined on Monday due to reduced demand for the safe-haven asset following indications that tensions were easing in Eastern Europe after Russia ended its military exercises near the Ukrainian border and offered to provide humanitarian aid to the country.
--Dec futures (a troy ounce): $1310.50 Monday vs $1311.00 Friday.
